The Medical Education team has partnered with Hillary Zebberman from the Pediatric Neuromuscular Clinic at UCLA and Aravindhan Veerapandiyan from Arkansas Children’s Hospital to create a detailed presentation of best practices in mental health care for pediatric patients with neuromuscular disease (NMD). These slides will include an overview of the biological and psychosocial issues that impact the mental health and emotional needs of adolescents, as well as guidance on assessing the mental health needs of this population and incorporating these considerations into the treatment plan.
