Ask a Genetic Counselor: Leveraging Genetic Testing to Optimize NMD Care

Join four genetic counselors with expertise in neuromuscular disease as they discuss FAQs and best practices when integrating testing into practice. This program aims to help attendees integrate genetic testing into care and leverage available testing programs to facilitate access. Topics include test selection, associated pros and cons, interpretation, “no-cost” testing programs and more.
Upon completion of the educational activity, participants should be able to:
● Identify patients with NMD who may benefit from genetic testing.
● Adopt best practices for integrating genetic counseling and testing into care.
● Leverage available genetic testing programs and resources in NMD to increase patient access and support referral to relevant specialists.
