This case study will explore the diagnostic odyssey of Bulbar ALS with Frontotemporal Dementia in patient #3 (55-year-old-man-year-old-man).
- Recognize clinical symptoms indicative of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)
- Understand risk factors and genetic causes of ALS Understand the optimal workflow for diagnosis based upon physical examination, a detailed patient history, electrodiagnostic testing, genetic testing, and a variety of additional specialized tests, as needed
- Understand the use of the ALSFRS-R scale to evaluate functional impairment in patients with ALS
- Diagnose ALS with increased skill and confidence, shortening the diagnostic journey of patients with ALS
- Understand how to optimize medical management of confirmed ALS according to best practice guidelines
