Burn Boot Camp Raising Funds for its Second Annual National "Be Their Muscle" Event

Burn Boot Camp Partners with the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) for the Second Year, Holding Benefit Camps Nationwide Saturday, July 20th, in an Effort to Top Last Year’s Donations of $170,000 to Support Families Living With Muscular Dystrophy and Related Diseases.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (PRWEB)

Burn Boot Camp, a nationwide health & fitness franchise, teams up with the MDA for their fourth annual national “Be Their Muscle” philanthropic event, and seventh year since the company’s inception, to support the MDA’s mission to transform the lives of kids and adults with muscular dystrophy, ALS and related neuromuscular diseases that severely weaken muscle strength and mobility. Burn Boot Camps will be held across the country on Saturday, July 20th, 2019 at 9:00 am. All proceeds raised will benefit the MDA and their MDA Summer Camps program, which provides a life-changing overnight camp experience to hundreds of children across the country living with neuromuscular disease, at no cost to their families

“It’s easy to forget that we get the privilege to wake up and move our body each and every day. Our nationwide Be Their Muscle event was designed to give children with muscular dystrophy and related neuromuscular diseases the opportunity to take part in a physical fitness activity and become a part of our Burn family. This is our chance as a community to be the muscle supporting those who inspire us to keep moving when they can’t.” – Devan Kline (CEO/Founder, Burn Boot Camp)

Teaming up with the MDA to support children living with muscular dystrophy and related neuromuscular diseases is a natural fit for Burn Boot Camp, the Kline family, and the growing number of Franchisees. As able-bodied individuals, the Burn Boot Camp community realizes how fortunate they are for the opportunity to push themselves and their physical boundaries daily, without hesitation.

The mission of Burn Boot Camp has always been to ignite a global health transformation through empowering individuals to build confidence and happiness that will transcend fitness into a community of mentally, emotionally, and physically strong people. This community is dedicated to educating, influencing, and inspiring every life with knowledge, love, strength, and passion. It is with this same passion that, through this event, Burn Boot Camp aims to surpass last year’s donations of $170,000 in funds that will give children across the country the chance to attend MDA Summer Camp where they can laugh, play and live beyond their boundaries.

“We are looking forward to the second national ‘Be Their Muscle’ event with Burn Boot Camp, as they have been an amazing partner in helping the MDA raise awareness and funds for our MDA Summer Camps program,” said Lynn O’Connor Vos, President & CEO of MDA. “The funds raised through this event will send even more kids to camp at no cost to families, in addition to providing programming options and activities that promote youth development, risk taking and exposure to new experiences for the hundreds of children who attend MDA Summer Camps across the U.S. every summer.”

Burn Boot Camp was founded in 2012 by husband and wife Devan and Morgan Kline in Huntersville, NC. The company began franchising in 2015 and now has over 200 open locations in 36 states with over 180 locations in development to open. The Klines share a deep passion for philanthropy and are excited to continue building the relationship they have cultivated with the MDA.

MDA’s EVP, Chief Impact and Philanthropy Officer, Adam Cotumaccio said, “As the leading expert on muscle and muscle related diseases, the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s partnership with Burn Boot Camp just makes sense. We know muscle, they help to build muscles! What makes this relationship even stronger is the dedication of the Burn Boot Camp team to making a difference in the lives of individuals living with muscle disease. Burn Boot Camp is a great team player, a wonderful partner and incredible community leader all bound together by a caring bunch of individuals. I can’t wait to see what we can do together this year as we grow our national partnership and continue to transform lives!”

The Muscular Dystrophy Association is committed to transforming the lives of people affected by muscular dystrophy, ALS and related neuromuscular diseases. They do this through innovations in science and innovations in care. As the largest source of funding for neuromuscular disease research outside of the federal government, MDA has committed more than $1 billion since their inception to accelerate the discovery of therapies and cures. Research they have supported is directly linked to approved, life-changing therapies across multiple neuromuscular diseases. They support the largest network of multidisciplinary clinics providing best in class care at more than 150 of the nation’s top medical institutions, and each year thousands of children and young adults learn vital life skills and gain independence at summer camp and through recreational programs, at no cost to families.
