Wheelchair Costumes Rule!
 |
| Splish Splash: Nikki Nesbitt, Komoka, Ontario, Canada (age 14 in this photo) really cleaned up on Halloween in 2007. |
At Halloween, wheelchair and scooter users have a definite advantage over other trick-or-treaters — their costumes are waaay cooler.
Besides being highly creative, a good wheelchair costume allows easy steering by the driver, can be clearly seen at night and has no hanging parts to catch in the wheels.
To be included in the 2010 wheelchair costume round-up, send a film print to: MDA Publications, 3300 E. Sunrise, Tucson, AZ 85718, or e-mail a high-resolution digital image (at least 300 dpi at 5 x 7 inches) to publications@mdausa.org. (No prints from digital images please.) Photos must be received by July 1, 2010. Include: name, diagnosis and age at the time the photo was taken, as well as contact information (not published).

| The next year, 15-year-old Nikki was a rose among daisies in her flowerpot costume. |
And in this corner ... is Jake Bower, age 4, of Pinellas Park, Fla., looking more than ready to fight all comers for a candy prize. |
