J.T. Stepanek, 13, MDA National Goodwill Ambassador and renowned
poet and peacemaker, who died June 22. (MDA National Chairman Jerry
Lewis cannot attend due to health reasons.)

Carl and Gilman were very close to Mattie and
appeared with him on the Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon. They’ll
attend Monday’s gatherings to pay tribute to Mattie, an
enormously popular child prodigy who died as a result of a neuromuscular
disease. Carl will read an ode
that Jerry Lewis has written to the valiant youngster. Gilman,
who has released an album based on Mattie’s best-selling Heartsongs poetry series, will sing.

The 11 a.m. memorial service is open to the public,
but seating is extremely limited. Monitors outside the church will
carry live video/audio for people there. |
