Elizabeth created this artwork at age 15 at an MDA summer camp.  While a student at Franklin High School, her favorite subjects were art and biology.

The Texas Inn

Janice has exhibited her artwork in North Carolina, Vermont and Virginia and received numerous awards for her sketches and pottery.  She uses a variety of media - pencil, watercolor, crayon and charcoal in her sketches.  Janice is also a sculptor and writer.

Self Portrait - Timmy Greeson

Artist: 

Timmy created this artwork at age nine at an MDA-sponsored children's art workshop held June 6, 1992, in Houston.  He serves in leadership positions in numerous organizations and enjoys church and school activities.

Tennessee Dolls

Artist: 

Vauta learned wood carving as a young woman in high school.  These dolls are modeled after an elderly couple she knew at that time.  Vauta enjoyed painting, weaving baskets and creating other crafts for many years.  Her family has a collection of all the presidents which she hand carved.

Little Pink Palace

Artist: 

Vauta began painting more than 20 yearsago  This “palace” is on a rural road near her family’s home.  She also made baskets and carved wooden dolls.

Sybil has been a freelance art history lecturer and art instructor as well as an artist.  She has received numerous awards in juried shows and some of her paintings are included in several private collections.  Sybil was honored in Who’s Who in American Women in 1995-96 and was named recipient of MDA’s 1996 State Personal Achievement Award for Florida.

From Russia with Love

A recognized artist, Lynette studied in San Francisco and at the Joslyn Center for the Arts in Torrance, Calif. Many of her works focus on depicting the American prairie.  Her award-winning work has appeared in numerous juried shows including the Portland (Oregon) Art Museum; Boise State University; Corbin Art Center (Spokane, Wash.) and the Gallery Genesis, Chicago.

Dr.Glass

Ferdinand began painting in 1994 after being diagnosed with myasthenia gravis.  This painting was done from a photograph of Dr. Glass, Director of the MDA/ALS Center at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia.
